How to Save Hours Planning Your Disney Vacation

When things get busy, planning a vacation always sounds like a great idea.  An escape from all the daily chaos.  Time to recharge and relax.  In the case of a Disney vacation, a chance to let go of adult worries and embrace your youth.

But then reality sets in – this is yet another project added to your ongoing to-do list.  You’ve got to make time for researching hotels, comparing airlines, deciding your plans, calling in changes, compiling packing lists, gathering tips, and so much more.  Yes, some of the activities can be fun (it’s Disney, after all), but some are just MORE stress added to you day.

Thankfully, this is where I tell you there’s a better way!  Read on to learn how to save time planning your Disney vacation.

How to Save Hours Planning Your Disney Vacation

How Long Does It Take to Plan a Disney Vacation?

Planning a vacation can become a full time job (seriously, I would know).  A Disney vacation is an investment in your family, so you want to be sure to give yourself enough time to make it what you want it to be.

It takes time to do all the research, make calls, decide what you want, and explore all the options.  Your level of experience with Disney and the type of trip you want will determine how far in advance you should begin planning.  Many start the process 7-12 months in advance and report spending between 5-20 hours/week researching the trip.

Let’s think about that.  You’ve already got a full-time job (or you’re home with the kids with a REALLY full-time job).  You’ve got home and family responsibilities.  Somewhere in there you need to squeeze in sleep, food, and personal care.  And now you’re learning that it could take you 150 hours to plan that “perfect” Disney vacation.

Now I’m not going to lie – some parts of the planning are a lot of fun.  If you enjoy research, lists, and planning in general this may be a great activity for your free time (I fall into this category).  But some parts are just not fun for anyone – for example, waiting on hold for 90+ minutes to make changes to your reservation during a promotion release.

The Secret to Saving Time Planning Your Disney Vacation

So what can you do to save time and still get the best trip possible?  The secret is to work with a vacation planner who specializes in Disney vacations.

Imagine having someone to do all the leg work for you.  Someone to make all those calls and set up early reservations while you sleep in.  Someone who works around your schedule, instead of you having to work around Disney’s.

When I work with my clients, it’s my goal to really get to know them so I can make recommendations for activities they’re truly going to love.  Every family experiences Disney differently, so every vacation is unique.  Because it is my job, I do spend 20 hours a week researching Disney.  But that’s okay!  I do it so my clients don’t have to.

Now, I do have clients who enjoy the planning process too.  For them I merely assist as needed.  They’re free to do all the research they like and we form plans together.  And when it comes time to handle a task they don’t want to do, I’m there to make it happen.

My clients are all busy people.  They want their families to experience their dream vacation, but they have a lot on their plates already.  I love having the opportunity to relieve them of some stress and help them enjoy the planning process again.

Oh, and did I mention my services are completely free for clients who book with me?

Planning Last-Minute Disney Vacations

As we’re talking about planning vacations months in advance, I’m well aware that sometimes Disney trips are planned on a much shorter timeline.  It’s possible to plan a last-minute vacation, and this is where a vacation planner can be invaluable.

When you’re trying to juggle airfare, hotels, tickets, activities, and dining all into a few weeks, it’s easy to feel more stressed than excited about your trip.  This is what we want to avoid!  I want you to have the best vacation possible, no matter how far in advance you’re planning.

I’ve worked with clients on only a few week’s notice.  I become a go-to to answer any questions, suggest plans, coordinate reservations, and make sure everything is coming together smoothly.  I even have a few tricks up my sleeve to grab those hard-to-find reservations.  With help. your vacation can feel as easygoing as if you had started planning it a year ago.

Remember: Delegate!

We live very busy lives nowadays.  There are always lists of projects to complete, goals to pursue, people to talk to, and so much more.  We can’t possible get everything done on our own.  This is why it’s becoming so popular to outsource tasks so we can focus on what we really want to be doing.

So yes, you can delegate your Disney vacation planning and save hours putting together your dream vacation.  And you can do it at no additional cost.  How’s that for magical?
