Get ready to immerse yourself in Riley’s brain with Disney’s latest addition to the Disney Parks! Inside Out Headquarters will debut at EPCOT in late 2021 as part of the 50th anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World Resort.
Inspired by the popular Disney-Pixar film, Inside Out Headquarters will invite you to explore the world of human emotions. Join Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear on journeys through the ups and downs that life has to offer.
While construction at the parks is on hold for the time being, Disney is continuing with plans for the reimagining of EPCOT. This brand new land will be located in the upcoming World Nature neighborhood of the park, replacing the Imagination Pavilion.
Let’s take a look at the new attractions coming to Inside Out Headquarters!
Joy’s Sunshine Coaster
Join joy on a thrilling ride through the highlights of life on this family-friendly coaster. Journey through recall tubes that depict favorite memories from the film, including Riley’s first moments with her parents, learning to play hockey, and adventures with Bing Bong. Feel the sun on your face as you rise into the sky and feel the rush as you race around personality islands with a heartwarming soundtrack.
Sadness’s Memory Theater
Sit back and relax in this 4-D theater experience that will immersive you in classic scenes from Disney and Pixar films. Relive memories such as Carl & Ellie’s relationship, Jessie’s tales of her first owner, Queen Iduna and King Agnarr’s last voyage, and Mufasa’s final moments. The theater is equipped with surround sound, interactive effects, and built-in tissue dispensers. Don’t forget to visit Bing Bong on your way out as he bids you to “take her to the moon for me.”
Anger’s Queue Experience
Anger’s Queue Experience celebrates one of the most iconic memories of the Disney Parks: the line! This attraction will invite guests to explore a winding queue that extends throughout the pavilion. The 60-minute experience will allow your family to spend plenty of quality time together as you stand and wait for the ultimate finale: the exit. Here, the line IS the fun! Note: FastPass+ service will be unavailable for this attraction.
Disgust’s Smell Lab
Take control of Headquarters as you join Disgust in keeping Riley safe and happy. Guests may recognize Figment’s slot machine, re-purposed from its role in the retiring Journey Into Imagination with Figment ride. This interactive experience invites guests to pull the lever and test smells such as broccoli, skunk, burnt coffee, and gym socks. Download the Disney Parks App to play “Guess That Smell!” and score points as a family.
Fear’s River Adventure
Disney’s latest acquisition of 20th Century Studios has enabled their boldest attraction yet! On Fear’s River Adventure, guests will board a boat that travels past scenes from popular films such as Alien, Predator, Poltergeist, The Omen, and Speed 2: Cruise Control. With 4-D effects and a thrilling final drop in pitch darkness, this is a ride that will live in your memory (and nightmares) forever. Surprises lurk around every turn!

Of course, you may have realized by now that it’s April 1st and Inside Out Headquarters is a figment of my own imagination 🙂. While this announcement is not real, there are a few places you can truly experience Inside Out in the Disney Parks. Here’s where to find them:
- Future World West at EPCOT
- Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park
And in case you’re curious, as of now, Journey Into Imagination with Figment isn’t going anywhere.
